Where Local Food Meets Local Need

Rural counties make up 63% of the total United States, but account for 78% of all counties experiencing high food insecurity.

To end hunger in these areas, Warehouses4Good helps build food hubs, public markets, and distribution centers that strengthen their local food systems and support rural economic growth. Our work creates real, lasting benefits for families, farmers, and small communities.

Our Services

  • We help communities complete the early planning to meet design and technical requirements needed before construction can begin. This includes need assessments, feasibility studies, site reviews, funding eligibility, and early project coordination.

  • We work closely with our local partners to bring together local leaders, businesses, and nonprofits to shape projects that reflect the community’s needs and goals.

  • Our facilities help communities strengthen cold storage, aggregation, transportation, and distribution so more local food reaches families, schools, and stores

  • We serve as the owner’s representative during construction, helping communities navigate contractors, timelines, and budgets so facilities are built correctly, safely, and to the standards required for long-term success.

  • We oversee project scope, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring all grant reporting and federal requirements are met from start to finish.

  • “Warehouses4Good has been a great asset to the North Dakota Association of Rural Electrical Cooperatives’ (NDAREC) efforts to establish a network of food hubs and distribution centers in North Dakota. Warehouses4Good’s work with NDAREC has helped move forward our efforts to address food access to our families and grocery stores in our rural communities. These efforts will provide more opportunities to local and regional producers and processors to increase local foods to their existing markets and gain access to new markets. In the end, Warehouses4Good will have helped to improve food access, quality, and security to our rural North Dakota communities.”
